Ezekiel-isms

Ezekiel had the hiccups last week. He comes in and tells me "Hiccups . . . under shirt". A few days later he has hiccups again. He says, "Hiccups in belly . . . (hiccup) . . . now out". At dinner he brought up hiccups and so I asked him (hoping he would tell Dad) where hiccups come from and Ezekiel replied, "Neck". I'll have to keep you updated on where they come from next.

As he was climbing the stairs, he says, "Hand hurts". I say, "I'm sorry, what happened." As he gets to the top he tells me, "okay now" and kisses his own hand.

Conversation overheard:
Ezekiel: "Hurts"
Dad: "What hurts?"
Ezekiel: "Arm hurts, I'm sorry Daddy"
Dad: "I'm sorry too"

I was making two birthday cakes, one for Austin (Ezekiel's cousin) and one for Ezekiel. I had to leave the kitchen for a moment and I hear "Take part". I said, very apprehensively from the other room. "Take apart what?" I hear in reply "Cake". "No, stay away from the cake" I answer. I come back in the kitchen and Ezekiel had moved his chair over to the counter and had pinched an edge of the cake. He likes "bit-day cake". Good thing these cakes are for family and frosting covers well.

"Night, night Ev-a-Lyn" is said quite often. Sometimes very sweetly as I am putting Evelyn to bed. Other times it is said as a command when it isn't even close to time for her to go to sleep.

"Daddy, goofball? Nooo. Mommy, goofball? No. Ezekiel, goofball."

I had Evelyn laying on the boppy. Ezekiel goes over to her, takes a hold of her face and says, "Look at me". Hmmm . . . do you think we say that often to him?

He has said to his Mega Mole (see older post) "Listen and Obey".

Aunt Erica sent Ezekiel a Hallmark email card. It was a hippo that started to say something and coughed and then said, "I'm sorry I must have a frog in my throat." Next thing you know the hippos mouth is open and a frog starts singing, "Happy Happy Happy Birthday mmmm to o o o o o " and his mouth opens up and a small frog pops out singing, "You". The little frog goes back in the larger frog, then he goes back in and the hippo closes her mouth. She kind of giggles, then sinks into the water. Then "Have a very Hippo Birthday"pops up.
Can you tell I've only watched this a few thousand times. Every time I had the computer open we had to watch the hippo at least a few times. (By the way, thanks Aunt Erica)
